As Mental Health Awareness Week approaches, we are thrilled to announce an extraordinary event aimed at promoting mental well-being while supporting a local cause.

On Sunday 19th May, Barnards Farm will open its gates for a serene and enlightening experience with their Open Garden Day, with all ticket proceeds dedicated to Thurrock and Brentwood Mind, your local mental health charity.

Nestled within 22 hectares of captivating garden and woodland, visitors can embark on a mindful journey, embracing the tranquillity of nature. Attendees will have the opportunity to follow the gentle stream, pause beside reflective ponds, and immerse themselves in the artistry of numerous sculptures across the landscape, all while admiring the huge array of plants and flowers.

In alignment with this year's Mental Health Awareness Week theme of movement, Barnards Farm Open Garden Day encourages participants to engage in the rejuvenating benefits of outdoor exploration. Studies have shown that spending time outdoors and being active can significantly enhance mental well-being by boosting alertness, elevating mood, and reducing stress and anxiety.

Attendees can look forward to encountering a few Thurrock and Brentwood Mind stalls, including Stepping Stones (our gardening group) selling their plants and our Wellbeing Group, offering mindful activities. Additionally, visitors will have the chance to learn more about our services.

Light refreshments will also be available to purchase with all proceeds going to Thurrock and Brentwood Mind or people can bring their own picnics to enjoy sitting in the beautiful surroundings.

Tickets for Open Garden Day are priced at £10, with complimentary admission for children. All proceeds will directly benefit Thurrock and Brentwood Mind, to help continue work in supporting mental health within the local community.
