Details

An award-winning Educational Farm Park in the Essex countryside - on the outskirts of East London, with farmyard favourites and exotic animals, plus indoor and outdoor leisure activities. An ideal venue for Key Stages 1 and 2 to visit, whilst learning about farming, exotic and unusual animals and the natural environment. With teachers' packs available and leisure opportunities for school groups to enliven lesson time, this is a superb place to hold a school day out in the country. Old Macdonald's Farm has been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge in 2010 as a recognition of the quality of our services. Visit to find out more.

OPENING TIMES: 1 April to 30 September, weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays, 1000-1700. 1 October to 31 March, weekdays and weekends, 1000-1600. Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Eve. 3 to 28 January only open at weekends.
SUGGESTED LENGTH OF VISIT: 3 to 4 hours.

EDUCATIONAL VISIT FACILITIES:
Free preliminary visit for teacher, teacher and pupil resource packs, qualified schools guide/specialised education officer on hand, classroom/study area, welcome talk and demonstrations available, guided tours, indoor eating area available, outdoor eating area available. Close to the A12 (A1023)/M25 junction 28, follow road signs to Brentwood and then to the farm. First class parking facilities for all with parking for those with disabilities close to farm entrance. Also coach parking for schools and other groups.

Notes

  • The farm has one wheelchair to provide on request (Please ring to book in advance). Cafe provides a variety of freshly cooked meals such as: Fish, Jacket Potatoes, sandwiches, Baguettes, Hamburgers and vegetable Burgers. Some food products are also Halal (Please ask in Cafe direct). Preliminary visits are avaliable for groups.
