2017 Brentwood Business Showcase

Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the 2017 Brentwood Business Showcase will be held on Wednesday 1 November 2017 at Brentwood School.

Organised by Brentwood Borough Council, and with Platinum and Networking Café Sponsor Wortley Byers Law, the Showcase promises to be bigger and better than last year ‘s which was attended by more than 400 visitors.
Come and listen to an exciting line up of keynote speakers and entrepreneurial workshops on how to grow and innovate your business as well as visiting a wide range of exhibitors.

A key theme is the latest insight into the digital future for businesses with some of the biggest industry names joining us. The Google Digital Garage will be delivering masterclasses on the digital skills you need to grow your business or career. Worldwide brand Microsoft will be speaking on digital transformation, recognised as the biggest global trend for business.

TIME MANAGEMENT BUSINESS ADVICE WORKSHOP

20 SEPTEMBER, 10AM - 1PM

Hosted by Ignite Business Enterprise and funded by the BEST Growth Hub, this FREE workshop will be focusing on the time management tools available to you and how best to use them in your business.

The workshop will demonstrate how to organise and conduct efficient and effective meetings, goal setting techniques that help you to effectively plan and set priorities and enable you to work smarter not harder.

Brentwood Apprenticeships: Funding for Businesses

Brentwood Borough Council is committed to the growth and development of apprenticeships throughout the Borough for the benefit of employers and young people.

The Brentwood Apprentice programme has been developed in partnership with ACL and Essex County Council to support and encourage employers when recruiting an apprentice.

Twelve local businesses will each be able to claim £1000 funding towards an apprentice, subject to eligibility criteria.

The EU funded LoCASE Project (Low Carbon Across the South East) can provide businesses with match funded grants of up to £10,000 to help cover the cost of energy efficient measures for any small or medium business and help businesses in the low carbon sector to expand.

Grants can help purchase equipment and machinery, pay for research and development, marketing and website development and business development consultancy.

APPRENTICESHIPS FOR BUSINESS

Brentwood Borough Council is committed to the growth and development of apprenticeships throughout the Borough for the benefit of employers and young people. We are working in partnership with Essex County Council to support the Apprenticeship Promotion and Brokerage Hub. The Hub provides free apprenticeship information and advice to businesses and young people in the Brentwood borough.

Operated by Essex County Council, the Hub promotes apprenticeships as a post 16 option to young people in years 11-13 and work with employers to offer high quality apprenticeship opportunities.

The Apprenticeship Promotion and Brokerage Hub can support employers thinking of recruiting an apprentice by;

· Providing advice on recruiting an apprentice

· Offering interview facilities

· Coordinating interviews between the business and apprentice

· Promoting vacancies directly to schools leavers in the local area

· Providing on-going support once the apprentice is recruited

Active Brentwood Sports and Health Awards - 8 November 2017

This prestigious awards ceremony will be taking place at the South Essex Golf Centre on the evening of Wednesday 8th November. The awards ceremony celebrates the excellent sporting, health and wellbeing work being delivered locally. It will be attended by local sports clubs, fitness trainers, leisure providers, community groups and volunteers. Sponsorship options available:
